Intro to Silver Metal Clay: Cincy in Silver 1-day Workshop: December 15, 1-3pm
Intro to Silver Metal Clay: Cincy in Silver 1-day Workshop is a super special one day workshop that is designed to give you the foundational skills needed to help you explore and succeed with the awesome world of metal clay. This workshop delves into the processes involved with preparing, rolling, and cutting FINE SILVER metal clay. Each student will receive 15 grams of silver metal clay to work with. Most students find that 15g is enough to make two pairs of earrings and two pendants, making this class very cost effective for making gifts. Additional silver metal clay will be available to purchase onsite if students desire. Special hand-drafted, custom cut mats of Cincinnati landmarks (including the Music Hall rosette window as pictured above) will be available for this class theme only.
Your pieces will be dried, smoothed, drilled and fired. Silver pieces made during this short workshop will be ready for you to use in jewelry pieces of your own design, or you may elect to register a Finishing Workshop as a natural next step. Pieces will be ready for pick up (or mailed with a small fee) within one week.
Classes are capped at 8 students. This is a one day class that lasts approximately 2 hours. Cost is $120. Please note that workshops using silver clay have a higher cost due to the cost of precious metals. Classes will be held in the Terra Creative Collective studio in Northside.
Students may choose to take either Intro to Metal Clay 1 Day Workshop or Metal Clay 6 Week Series before registering for Intermediate Metal Clay Workshops at Terra.
